Newlywed gets even with husband's entitled rich siblings after they mock her modest upbringing: 'Let's test your elite palates'

Why is this family giving major Saltburn vibes?

This author thought that she and her husband's love could transcend their vastly different upbringings. Unfortunately, however, his family's elitism and pride ended up getting in the way not long after their wedding. When she spent a long weekend with his siblings, tensions rose to the surface pretty quickly when the author's sister-in-law began to mock the author's taste. 

To make matters worse, one night, the author learned that the seemingly harmless nickname her husband's siblings had given her actually had harmful undertones. This resulted in an upsetting confrontation that the author rightfully couldn't get over. Furthermore, her husband turned out to be unable to stand up for his wife in the way that he 100% should have. 

So, the author took matters into her own hands. That night, while her husband and his siblings were away, she swapped out the contents of an expensive bottle for a cheap one to see if her new family actually had the so-called refined sense of taste they claimed to possess. The results were laughable!

  • You have to hand it to this author for managing to give this new family a taste of their own medicine and unveiling just how empty their sensibilities actually were. While we wish that this confrontation had happened well before the marriage so that this relationship could have ended far sooner, we're glad that it at least happened before this couple started a family of their own. Now, she was able to separate from her useless husband before things got too complicated!
